Sad news out of Rwanda this week, as the folks at Tom Ritcheys Project Rwanda, which Jason Gay profiled in our pages last September, have alerted us to the tragic death of young cyclist Godfrey Gahemba.Gahemba was struck by a vehicle during a cycling race in Rwamagana,Rwanda, on December 14. He was 17 years old. Gahemba had been the surprising third-place finisher of this years Tour de Rwanda, and had ridden for Rwanda in the 2008 Replica Zenith watches Junior World Championships in South Africa.Gahemba was orphaned during the 1994 genocide, and raised by fellow Team Rwanda cyclist Adrien Niyonshuti.
